<p>What to Do During an Earthquake<br />
Stay as safe as possible during an earthquake. Be aware that some earthquakes are actually foreshocks and a larger earthquake might occur. Minimize your movements to a few steps to a nearby safe place and if you are indoors, stay there until the shaking has stopped and you are sure exiting is safe. <span id="more-585"></span></p>
<p>If indoors<br />
•DROP to the ground; take COVER by getting under a sturdy table or other piece of furniture; and HOLD ON until the shaking stops. If there isn’t a table or desk near you, cover your face and head with your arms and crouch in an inside corner of the building.<br />
•Stay away from glass, windows, outside doors and walls, and anything that could fall, such as lighting fixtures or furniture.<br />
•Stay in bed if you are there when the earthquake strikes. Hold on and protect your head with a pillow, unless you are under a heavy light fixture that could fall. In that case, move to the nearest safe place.<br />
•Use a doorway for shelter only if it is in close proximity to you and if you know it is a strongly supported, loadbearing doorway.<br />
•Stay inside until the shaking stops and it is safe to go outside. Research has shown that most injuries occur when people inside buildings attempt to move to a different location inside the building or try to leave.<br />
•Be aware that the electricity may go out or the sprinkler systems or fire alarms may turn on.<br />
•DO NOT use the elevators.<br />
If outdoors<br />
•Stay there.<br />
•Move away from buildings, streetlights, and utility wires.<br />
•Once in the open, stay there until the shaking stops. The greatest danger exists directly outside buildings, at exits and alongside exterior walls. Many of the 120 fatalities from the 1933 Long Beach earthquake occurred when people ran outside of buildings only to be killed by falling debris from collapsing walls. Ground movement during an earthquake is seldom the direct cause of death or injury. Most earthquake-related casualties result from collapsing walls, flying glass, and falling objects.<br />
If in a moving vehicle<br />
•Stop as quickly as safety permits and stay in the vehicle. Avoid stopping near or under buildings, trees, overpasses, and utility wires.<br />
•Proceed cautiously once the earthquake has stopped. Avoid roads, bridges, or ramps that might have been damaged by the earthquake.<br />
If trapped under debris<br />
•Do not light a match.<br />
•Do not move about or kick up dust.<br />
•Cover your mouth with a handkerchief or clothing.<br />
•Tap on a pipe or wall so rescuers can locate you. Use a whistle if one is available. Shout only as a last resort. Shouting can cause you to inhale dangerous amounts of dust</p>

Just getting a loan requires an act of God.  Even then you&#8217;re paying an exorbitant amount in interest.  Yet, when you have money, even more of it flows to you.  Loans are easy, people give you things, that you don&#8217;t even need.  The struggling can&#8217;t even afford to eat a restaurant.  Yet,  rich and famous are not only given their meals for free, often they&#8217;re paid to just &#8220;be there&#8221;.  There&#8217;s nothing we can do about it.  It is natures way, i suppose. It just seems backward sometimes.  Case in point: Kim Kardashian Wedding. </p>

<p>Kim is reportedly making $17.9 million from her wedding. The New York Post reported that the biggest source of revenue is from the two-part E! special, which is expected to pull in $12 million to $15 million for the Kardashian family franchise.</p>
<p>Reports say that the exclusive photo rights have been sold to People magazine for between $1.5 and $2.5 million.</p>
<p>The Hollywood Reporter noted that the couple made $300,000 for <span id="more-579"></span>their engagement announcement back in May and $100,000 from OK! magazine for bridal shower pictures.</p>
<p>According to the Post, here is what the couple got for free, and what they&#8217;re being paid:<br />
Payments they received:</p>
<p>$15 million plus profit for four-hour, two-part wedding special on E!<br />
$2.5 million for exclusive photos with People magazine<br />
$300,000 for exclusive engagement announcement with People<br />
$100,000 for exclusive rights to bridal shower with Britain&#8217;s OK! mag<br />
$50,000 to have bachelorette party at Tao in Las Vegas</p>
<p>Stuff they got for free:</p>
<p>$15,000 to $20,000 Hansen&#8217;s Bakery wedding cake<br />
$20,000 Vera Wang wedding dress and fittings<br />
$40,000 for two more Vera Wang evening dresses<br />
$400,000 in Perrier Jouet Champagne<br />
$150,000 in hair and makeup for photo shoots and TV &#8220;home video&#8221;<br />
$10,000 in Lehr &amp; Black wedding invitations</p>
<p>Deeply discounted:</p>
<p>$2 million 20.5-carat engagement ring and $1 million wedding bands by jeweler Lorraine Schwartz. The amount they paid for these items hasn&#8217;t been revealed, but it&#8217;s much less than their worth.</p>

<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m afraid.&#8221; No one got anywhere without taking a risk. If you&#8217;re terrified <span id="more-577"></span>to make that leap into a career that will fulfill you and make you happy, get over it. You have to jump sometimes, even if no one is there to catch you.</p>
<p>&#8220;Things will get better eventually.&#8221; You&#8217;re miserable. You&#8217;re unchallenged. Your boss treats you like you&#8217;re nothing more than crap on their shoe sole. You really want to keep telling yourself that things will get better? How many years of your life are you going to waste on convincing yourself that it will be OK eventually? In case you forgot, life is pretty damn short.</p>
<p>&#8220;I need money.&#8221; Unfortunately, this is a fact of life that is completely unavoidable. However, it doesn&#8217;t mean that you should sit in a job you hate just to get a paycheck. The world is full of different industries and career paths - and guess what? They all pay.</p>
<p>&#8220;This is temporary.&#8221; Oh is it? You&#8217;ve been in that job since 2005 and you&#8217;re still calling it &#8220;temporary?&#8221; Look up the meaning of temporary. You&#8217;ll probably find something in there about &#8220;a limited amount of time.</p>
<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s nothing better than this.&#8221; Denial - gotta love it. How do you know there&#8217;s nothing better than the job you have now - and hate - if you don&#8217;t look into something else? You don&#8217;t. And there&#8217;s always something better.</p>
